The ESOL program acts in Catholic outreach by providing English speaking tutors for non-English speaking adults in a welcoming learning environment. Our goal is to build student’s language foundations by teaching them to speak and understand English to truly thrive in our community.
The program has a rich history rooted in the Laubach Literacy Method that was developed by Frank C. Laubach in 1915. In the spirit of Each One Teach One, friendship between tutors and students are fostered often creating familial bonds as they share their cultures, celebrations, and faith.
We need volunteers to help teach English once a week on Tuesdays from 5:30 to 7:30pm in a one-on-one format.
You do not need to be a trained teacher or speak another language, just a desire to help our community members wanting to improve their English language proficiency.
If you are interested in becoming a tutor, please contact Adrian Perotti at [email protected].
